Description
NPG is substrate for detection of ß-glucuronidase activity. NPG is cleaved by GUS via hydrolysation at the ß1-glycosi-dic bond be-tween 4-nitrophenol and glucuronic acid. The released 4-ni-trophenol can be spectrophotometri-cally measured at 402-410 nm. The absorbance intensity at these wavelengths is directly related to the specific activity.
