Description
Bacteriostatic antibioticum with activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Within the cell tetracyclines bind reversible to the 30S subunit of the ribosome, preventing the binding of aminoacyl transfer RNA and inhibiting protein synthesis and hence cell growth.
