In the medium defined by Ch\u00e9e and Pool the original Murashige and Skoog concentration of Chlorine, Iodine and Manganese is decreased, resulting in an improved shoot multiplication of Vitis. Substituting calcium nitrate for calcium chloride improved the quality of grapevine shoots produced in culture. Shoot multiplication was dramatically improved by ommitting Iodine and lowering the concen-tration of Manganese. This might be the result of the involvement of both ions in auxin metabolism and tranport.<\/p>\n
